This Creamy Tuna with Broccoli is a simple low-carb dinner recipe that can be prepared in just ten minutes.
The creamy tuna sauce can be made using fridge and pantry staples so you won't need any fresh ingredients. It comes together in minutes, and only uses 5 ingredients, not including oil, salt and pepper.
I like to serve this over cooked vegetables such as tenderstem broccoli but you could also turn it into a keto pasta dish with zoodles or low-carb noodles such as shirataki.
And there's more! You serve with cauliflower rice or you can use it as topping on fried eggs or in this Low-Carb Briam instead of the feta. Any more serving suggestions? Let me know in the comments!

Ingredients (makes 2 servings)
- 1 small broccoli or tenderstem broccoli (250 g/ 8.8 oz)
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, divided (45 ml)
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tbsp capers, drained
- 1 large can tuna in brine, drained (185 g/ 6.5 oz)
- 6 tbsp heavy whipping cream (90 ml/ 3 fl oz)
- 2 tsp fresh lemon juice, or to taste
- sea salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Place the broccoli in a steamer or a pot filled with boiling water. Cook for 4 minutes (crisp tender) or op to 7 minutes (tender). Remove from the pot heat and set aside covered to keep warm.
- Meanwhile, place the capers on a sheet of paper towel and press to remove moisture. Roughly chop.
- Grease a saucepan with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add the garlic and capers and cook, stirring a minute or so until fragrant.
- Reduce heat and pour in the cream. Stir and add tuna.
- Break up the tuna with the back of a spoon and stir through. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat, and season with salt and pepper, and fresh lemon juice to taste.
- Serve spooned over the steamed broccoli and drizzle with the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Eat immediately or store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
