Jennifer's Success Story
I'm a stay at home mom and military wife. I juggle running our household and balancing my own health. I have struggled with weight gain for as long at I can remember. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant again for 5 years now. I have felt so awful about my body and self esteem. I'm finally ready to do this for ME. I want to lose some weight and be healthier so we can try to have a healthy pregnancy.
Why Did You Join?
Weight loss, be healthy and ultimately get pregnant.
What Helped You Stay on Track?
The food! All the food is so good! Also, the fact that I have more energy and sleep so much better was huge motivation.
How Has KetoDiet Helped?
It has kept me accountable and I didn't want to let myself down. Anytime I didn't understand something I just looked it up on here and it kept me going.
What Are Your Favourite KetoDiet Recipes?
I love the fat bombs because they are great for when I'm craving something sweet. I also like the dressings for salads. I've used then so many times.

Alisa's Success Story
I LOVE good food and I am learning to LOVE food that's good for you too! BASICS: 26 year old female I love my family, they ALWAYS come first with God of course. I love to travel (especially where it's hot with a nice beach) I love to dance (even if it's ugly lol) I love fashion I found my new love for baking and cooking.
Why Did You Join?
I joined this challenge mainly for weight loss & to avoid the dangerous disease also known as diabetes that runs in my family. The first time I lost someone close to me (my grandmother) was because of diabetes. I don't want to be another outcome of poor dieting or a sedentary lifestyle.
I am also currently dealing with my grandfather's cancer which was diagnosed late last year. It is hard to see someone struggle when it could have been avoided. I have always struggled with my weight growing up even though I was active when I was younger. Every one always criticized me for being a certain weight because they thought my "body should match my face." I always got "oh she's pretty she's just too big."
I never been too concerned with looks but this time around I am doing it for my HEALTH. Unfortunately, I hit my highest weight at almost 200 pounds and I am only standing at 5 feet and 1.5 inches tall. Somewhere in between I had the worst pain in my life which I found was from sciatica back pain, I couldn't even get up from the couch. That's when I knew it was time for a REAL change. I have gained weight quickly over stress and hormonal changes as well as yo-yo roller coaster dieting. I don't want to live unhealthy anymore and I want to get control of my body!
What Helped You Stay on Track?
I want to say the main thing that helped me stay on track were the numerous sources available through the internet. I created a new Instagram account just for keto and added everyone I could find that would motivate me through their keto diet journey and fitness. I also listened to different podcasts on keto.
The group here on the KetoDietApp website was even more inspirational and supportive. I felt I could say anything without judgment and really get important information during this whole learning process. In addition, I was fortunate enough have my boyfriend actually start and introduce me to keto which made it a whole lot easier having someone close take a leap of faith with me on my keto journey.
How Has KetoDiet Helped?
The KetoDiet Challenge has helped me in more ways than one! I can honestly say this challenge allowed me to feel accountable and committed for what I personally feel like the longest time ever.
As I mentioned before I would yo yo diet because I could never comit to something for more than a week. This diet alone has been a huge accomplishment for me. I love the fact that I literally wake up energized and I have that energy throughout the day. I never feel nasty or too full after eating a meal and sometimes I am satisfied with only one a day.
Something I will forever be grateful for is passing my state board exams which I have been struggling with for quite some time. I truly believe my success is a result of this diet. When I was studying while doing this challenge I never snacked which I did in the past just to make excuses to avoid studying and deal with the stress. The energy I got from keto never made me feel exhausted or tired from studying either.
When people talked about keto and mental clarity I thought they were exaggerating until I experienced it first hand. Keto allowed me to find balance within everything I do. Since Keto and my weight loss I have passed my exam, I work out almost every day because I actually enjoy it and have so much energy, and I am able to still go out and socialize with my friends and family. Thank you so much for this opportunity! My new goal is to inspire others to live this healthier lifestyle and remain diabetic free!
What Are Your Favourite KetoDiet Recipes?
My personal go-tos and favorites are the cauliflower mash which I love to add toppings to. I call it the "loaded keto mash." I made it for one of my family barbecues and it was a hit.
My other favorite is the sourdough baguettes. This also helped me stay on track because after I would make a batch I would easily eat it throughout the week. I would make simple sandwiches or even breakfast sandwiches and never got tired of it.

Eric's Success Story
I am a soon to be 50 year old that was tired of being tired. In February 2016, I decided to take charge and improve my overall health. At the time, I was looking at Sleep Apnea machines, was boderline diabetic, smoked over a pack a day, and drank over a 12 pack of Diet Mt. Dew on a daily basis. In other words, I was a 259 pound, unhealthy mess.
All of my knowledge about weight loss was based on calories in vs. calories out. Based on this approach, a buddy and I decided to start eating 6 small meals a day, following the common low fat, high carbohydrate diet. Since I was doing heavy cardio I lost 20 lbs over a 3 month period. However during the summer I found myself falling off the wagon with nutrition and exercise.
In September I started researching LCHF and that's when I discovered Keto. Since that time, I've lost another 25lbs by following the basic principals of Keto.
The reason why I joined this challenge is to take things up another level by closely tracking my macros, resistance training instead of cardio etc. By the way, the other thing after starting Keto I quit smoking (25 years) and dropped Diet Dew on day 1 of this challenge.
Why Did You Join?
To hold myself more accountable to strictly following the macros of Keto. MY ultimate goal is that this will go from a diet to a way of life for me.
What Helped You Stay on Track?
I am a member of your Facebook group and seeing other peoples stories as well as sharing mine helped. In addition, I went to phase 2 during this challenge, and started doing Crossfit about half way through. Keto & Crossfit is a great combination but I did need to adjust my macros along the way (increased protein).
How Has KetoDiet Helped?
It kept me much more focused on a daily basis. Plus, with adding Crossfit I really didn't want to mess things on the diet side after getting punished in the gym ;)
What Are Your Favourite KetoDiet Recipes?
Many...I eat a bunch of eggs so I've probably tried 50% of those keto recipes so far.

Sandy's Success Story
I've been keto for almost a year. It had helped me to drop roughly ten pounds and had really helped me gain control over my eating habits.
Then I was injured from about Thanksgiving until Christmas, add sadly I allowed my eating to get lazier. Without working out, those few extra carbs seem to have added some "fluff" to my mid section. New start! For this challenge, I'm also completely eliminating alcohol. Although I don't think I drink a lot, I'm sure those wine carbs add up over time!
Although I know that I'm currently at a healthy weight for my height of 5'3", I'm still not completely satisfied with my body composition. I've gotten to the point where I have an amazing amount of energy most days, and I know I can push a little harder in my strength training now to really transform my body.
I don't need to be the strongest person, but I need to be the strongest, happiest and most fit me that I can. I know being part of a group challenge is helpful to me to stay on track when things get tough. I'm super pumped to see where I'll be in 60 days.
Why Did You Join?
Many reasons: fat loss, more consistent eating behaviors, less "slip ups" in terms of eating, be more confident, love myself more, be happier with myself.
What Helped You Stay on Track?
I love being part of the Facebook group... There are so many people at many different stages of their journey. Everyone has good advice, funny stories and great recipes. Plus it's always nice to have people to talk to that are going through the same things as you.
Honestly, my biggest help for this challenge was how good I felt each day! I think getting back to strict keto was so helpful... I saw my body fat drop by roughly 5% and inches melted away. This was a huge push for my confidence. On top of that, I saw autoimmune related inflammation all but disappear, and many digestive problems I had seemed to just diminish or go away. I began to enjoy food again. I no longer are just because it was time or I thought I should...
I ate because my body told me it was hungry. I ate for actual nourishment. And I chose food based on how it would help me during my day... if I was going to lift heavy weights, I made sure my body had the food to get me through that! Seeing the positive changes really pushed me through to the end of the challenge. Feeling better helped me decide to keep going even now that the challenge is over.
I'm a numbers type person, so watching the inches go down, the weight loss and the body fat % go down were huge motivators for me. I've been struggling to get my body fat below 20% for months, and it seems it took getting more strict with my eating habits to push that in the right direction! I'm sleeping so much better than I was at the beginning of the year and it's been so awesome to wake up in the morning BEFORE my alarm and feel rested most days.
My overall mood and attitude has improved as well. Part of that is that I finally feel comfortable in my own skin! I've really learned how to push myself to achieve goals, but seeing the goals happen has finally given me the confidence that I've lacked for most of my adult life.
How Has KetoDiet Helped?
Being part of a challenge keeps me on track... I don't want to commit to a challenge and then only give it half my effort. I already knew keto would work for body recomp, but I needed to commit to being strict about it.
The KetoDiet Challenge specifically helped because there are SO MANY tools to use: endless recipes, trackers, articles and moderators who will help you tweak your eating and lifestyle.
Learning that this isn't a temporary diet helps... if you commit to this as a lifestyle, it can change your entire being. It's not just about losing weight (although that's a nice effect!)... it's about being the best version of me that I can be. There is no other "me" so every day I wake up and choose to be the best me that I can.
I've been part of these KetoDiet challenges for a year, but this one was different for me. This time, I was already at a healthy weight and wanted to improve body composition. I knew it was less about losing pounds and more about eating right and DOING MORE THINGS to improve myself. I learned to love yoga...I've never done it before in my entire life and now I can't seem to get enough of it! I didn't just focus on body changes. I wanted my entire life to change this challenge. This time, I allowed my WHOLE SELF to change...physical, emotional, spiritual...the whole package improved significantly!
