Greek-style burgers, also known as Biftekia (or Bifteki when referring to one burger) are packed full of flavor and protein. Traditional Biftekia are made with ground beef or lamb (or a combination of both), aromatics, fresh or dried herbs and spices.

To make these extra juicy and add more flavor, we are using crumbled feta cheese mixed directly with the meat. You can make these as regular sized burgers, smaller burger patties or even shape them on skewers just like Lamb Koftas.

These Greek Feta Burgers are best served with simple Mediterranean summer salads such as Arugula, Tomato & Feta Salad, Tzatziki or Classic Greek Salad.

  2. Add the crumbled feta and combine well. Low-Carb Greek Feta Burgers
  3. Using your hands, create 4 equal patties, 1/2 to 3/4 inch (1 1/4 to 2 cm) thick. Alternatively, make 8 smaller patties. Use your hands to smooth any cracks. Pierce the patties with a fork several times. This will loosen the patties and help them cook equally without curling or getting tough while enabling maximum caramelisation. 4. Grease the hot skillet or a griddle pan with a tablespoon of ghee (or avocado oil) and add the burger patties. Cook over high heat for 2 to 3 minutes, or until a crust forms on the bottom and the burgers are easy to flip on the other side using a spatula.
  5. Cook for another 2-3 minutes and then transfer to a plate and set aside. Low-Carb Greek Feta Burgers

I changed the way I ate in 2011, when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. I had no energy, and I found it more and more difficult to maintain a healthy weight.

That’s when I decided to quit sugar, grains, and processed foods, and to start following a whole-foods-based ketogenic approach to food.

Like all your recipes, this one is amazing!
I made your awesome chaffles recipe a used them as buns, added some rockets and tomatoes. One of the best burgers I ever had!

Love that! I use chaffles instead of bread to make sandwiches so I can see how they will work instead of burger buns! 😊
