Love bread and bacon? Then these Ultimate Bacon Keto Buns are for you! They use Martina’s popular Ultimate Keto Bun dough and are topped with crispy bacon. A fun twist on a bacon sandwich!

I love them stuffed with avocado and sun dried tomatoes, but feel free to fill with whatever keto-friendly fillings you like. Some cream cheese and cucumber or a chopped boiled egg with mayo would totally work too.

Not only does this low-carb recipe taste and look like real bread, these Ultimate Bacon Keto Buns will make you smile every time you look at them. They’re so cute. Perfect for any occasion and even Easter as a low-carb savoury replacement to the hot cross bun!

Ingredients (makes 5 buns)


  1. Make the Ultimate Keto Buns as per recipe to step 5. Please note the salt in this recipe is slightly less at 1/4 - 1/3 tsp because of the salty bacon. If you have a nut allergy, these can also be made with Martina’s nut-free keto buns. For flax-free options, use this keto bread dough.
  2. After topping each bun with sesame seeds, place 2 strips of bacon on each bun in a cross.

  3. Place in the oven and bake at 175 °C/ 350 °F (fan assisted) for 45 minutes until golden and the bacon is crispy.
  4. Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool.

  5. Slice and serve with butter or cream cheese. If the buns are too moist inside, place each half in a toaster or under a broiler for a few minutes to crisp up. Note that moisture very common in keto bread due to the highly absorbent psyllium and flax meal. Ultimate Bacon Keto Buns
  6. Store in a fridge for 2 to 3 days or freezer for up to 2 months. When ready to serve, reheat in the oven. Ultimate Bacon Keto Buns

What temperature do you recommend to cook these at?

Same as the original keto bun recipe (added to step 3) 😊
