The world we live in today is full of distractions and information noise. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find relevant, trustworthy and easy-to-understand health and nutrition information.
When creating content for our website and apps, we aim to make learning as easy as possible by explaining complex concepts in simple terms, avoiding unnecessarily complex language and focusing on the important points.
We strive for quality and trustworthiness of all information we provide and we always rely on our fundamental values: integrity, trust, accuracy and simplicity.
Our mission is to be a trusted source of information and help people to follow a healthy low-carb diet.
Science-Based Approach
Our articles and guides are based on up-to-date scientific evidence. All articles include references to available research papers, medical journals and academic research institutions. When research on a given topic is insufficient or limited, our experts may express considerations and recommendations based on their professional judgement and experience.
Our Team of Experts
We work with medical professionals including clinicians, dietitians and nutritionists to ensure up-to-date and accurate information.
Our Content Creation Process
Each topic is researched and written by one of our dedicated expert writers. It is then edited, reviewed and spellchecked before it gets published. Furthermore, our articles are regularly reviewed as described below and updated based the latest scientific evidence.
Our Review Process
The vast majority of our articles and guides are written by our team of health professionals. All articles that are not written by health professionals are reviewed by our experts to ensure accuracy. The authors and reviewers are listed at the beginning of each article/guide.
Each article or guide is regularly reviewed to reflect the most up-to-date information. We aim to review each article at least once every year.
Trusted Sources
Not all scientific evidence carries the same weight. In our articles and guides we highlight information sources that are well established and trusted in the scientific community.
How We Calculate Nutritional Data in Recipes
Accuracy is crucial when it comes to nutritional data. We use verified data from the USDA food database to calculate nutrition facts in our recipes.
Although our app additionally includes nutritional data for branded products, we generally avoid using branded products in our recipes as they are prone to inaccuracies.
To further ensure accuracy and avoid ambiguities, we list all measurements available in each of our recipes. Apart from listing volume units (teaspoons, tablespoons, cups), our recipes include both metric measurements (grams, kilograms, millilitres and litres) and US customary measurements (e.g. ounces, pounds, fluid ounces and quarts) in all ingredients except for small amounts typically seen in herbs, spices, etc.
We always update our food database in accordance with the latest USDA releases and all our recipes are designed to update automatically to reflect the latest available data.

Transparency and Bias
To stay as unbiased as we can, we run no third party ads on our website.
Our website, cookbooks and apps primarily focus on low-carb diets, including the ketogenic diet. To a certain degree we may be biased in favor of this dietary approach. To eliminate the risk of bias, we make sure that we always include all potential risks, drawbacks and side effects of low-carb diets. Furthermore, we work with a team of experts who frequently review our articles and guides and provide feedback which enables us to review our content and make changes where necessary.
As part of our recipe creating process, we use Amazon affiliate links for ingredients we use in our recipes. The links may point to a group of different products, or to an individual product. Each time a visitor clicks on an Amazon link and purchases a product, we earn a small fee paid by Amazon.
Furthermore, we work with a small and limited number of brands we trust and genuinely use. All links to third party products are disclosed where relevant (product reviews).
Comments and Feedback
All comments on our website are a subject to a strict approval process. We approve all comments apart from offensive comments, spam and comments linking to promotional content.
