Easy chocolate cheesecake jars topped with silky smooth dark chocolate ganache — that's every chocoholic's dream!

I made these single-serve cheesecake jars a few times for parties and summer BBQs and they were a hit even amongst my non keto friends. Best of all, they are really easy to put together with just a few ingredients.

These healthy cheesecake jars are crustless and no-bake just like my low-carb Strawberry Cheesecake Jars. If you want to add a simple low-carb crust, check out our Lemon Cheesecake Jars or Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake Jars.

If you are short on time you can skip the refrigeration but it's better if you can chill them for a couple of hours before topping with the ganache and serving. Once chilled, the cheesecake will firm up and become rich yet airy. Enjoy!

Ingredients (6 servings)

Chocolate cheesecake:
Ganache:
  • 1/3 cup hot heavy whipping cream (80 ml/ 2.7 fl oz)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (14 g/ 0.5 oz)
  • 1/3 cup 85-90% dark chocolate chips (60 g/ 2.1 oz)

Instructions

  1. To make the cheesecake layer, place the mascarpone, crème fraîche and cream into a bowl. Add the powdered sweetener, cacao powder, vanilla extract, coffee extract and cinnamon. Keto Chocolate Cheesecake Jars
  2. Use an electric mixer or hand whisk to process until smooth and creamy. Keto Chocolate Cheesecake Jars
  3. Divide the whipped cheesecake layer between 6 small (4-oz/ 120 ml) jars. Refrigerate for for 1-2 hours. If you are short on time, you can skip the refrigeration. Keto Chocolate Cheesecake Jars
  4. To prepare the ganache, heat up the cream until hot. Add the butter. Add the chocolate chips and leave to soften for about 5 minutes before stirring until smooth and glossy. Keto Chocolate Cheesecake Jars

I just made this and it is so good! I added 1 heaping tablespoon monk fruit to the grenache. It just wasn't sweet enough without it. I wish I would have added a little more instant coffee powder to it, also. I think one time I will try whipping the HWC until fluffy to see what the texture is like. Next time maybe. This is definitely a keeper!

Thank you so much! I make these for almost every BBQ I'm invited to! 😊 Sweetener is always best to be used to taste, and also the dark chocolate topping can vary for brands. Some are more bitter than others.

When you said 1 heaping TB of monk fruit, did you really mean an erythritol sweetener with monk fruit, such as Swerve, or Lakanto?
Pure monk fruit is too strong to use like that. People who are new to low carb sweeteners may not know that.

I'd guess the erythritol based version, pure monk fruit would not work.

This looks amazing! Where did you get the cute little jars, and how many ounces are they? Do they have lids?

The do actually! The only issue is that these are not really meant for serving desserts but for canning preserves etc. so the lids have separate rubber seals and metal pieces to seal.

Hello. Do you think it'd work with Xylitol as well?

It will, as long as you can tolerate it. I know it's more common to cause tummy issues so go easy on Xylitol just to be safe.

Is there something else you can use instead of the coffee extract? We are not coffee drinkers and don't have this ingredient on hand. Please let me know. I would like to try this. Thank you. Chantal

Cinnamon or vanilla or even orange extract all go really well with chocolate so you could just skip the coffee extract or use 1/4 to 1/2 tsp orange extract 😊

This recipe is incredible. I did make one substitution as I didn't have creme fraiche or sour cream, so I used Greek yogurt with a couple of tsp of apple cider vinegar mixed in instead - it worked just fine. This pudding really hits the spot and I'll definitely be making it again. I've never made ganache before and was surprised at how easy and delicious it is. Thanks Martina

I’m so glad to have found this recipe!!  I used 1package of cream cheese and sour cream. Because I really like intense chocolate, I increased the cocoa to 1/3 cup and the instant coffee to 2 tablespoons. I also added instant coffee to the ganache!  Oh my goodness, the results are so rich that I can only eat half a jar at a time. I also tried it with some slivered almonds. It’s now my favorite dessert to make because it’s so easy and quick to make!  Thank you for so many great recipes!!

This is by far my favorite keto dessert.  I have this in the fridge at almost all times.  The mousse part by itself is ok, and the ganache by itself is ok.  Put them together, and WOWZERS!   It is so delicious and so creamy.  The dark chocolate ganache really compliments the lighter chocolate mousse.  This is a fabulous keto dessert.

I’ve made these 3 times and they taste amazing!
But I need some help with the recipe! I saw the video on instagram and then found the recipe here. Your cheesecake turns out so smooth and creamy!  However, every time I make it, mine thickens up so fast, I have trouble transferring to the small jars.
I’ve made sure I’m using the right amount of ingredients, tried both cream cheese and marscapone cheese, also tried adding the whipping cream slowly and last (thinking maybe I was over-beating the mixture).
Any ideas!  I’d love advice!

Hi Liz, thank you for your kind words! It may be the cream - maybe you are using a higher fat cream? In the UK we have "whipping" that is about 38% fat (what I used) and double that is 45%+ fat. If it's too thick, it may be over-beaten (easier with the higher fat cream). I hope this helps!

I just made this. Yummy!!! Super easy! Fortunately for me, I had all the ingredients on hand. I don't have the jars, so I used ramekins and plastic wrap. As soon as I closed the fridge door, one of them tipped over and broke. Down one... SO SAD!
I then decided to taste test. They aren't cold yet. I know the chocolate will taste better cold. The cheesecake part set up before I even got them in the fridge. NICE!
Personal taste, I might try adding more cacao & coffee powder next time. I like mine a little more intense. But this is definitely going to be a FAVORITE and a GO TO. Just keep on hand the marscapone cheese and whipping cream and it's something that can be whipped up in minutes.
